Cabinet Upgrades!!

Today my husband and I walked through a Sienna that was being built. It really made us thankful that we decided to upgrade our cabinets. The house we walked through had the standard oak cabinets that are included. The oak still looks nice, but the actual door panels are very thin. Also, the top shelves in the bottom cabinets  are not the full size of the cabinets. We chose to upgrade to the Cherry cabinets and now we are very pleased with our choice. The upgraded cabinets will be a lot sturdier and also have the pull out shelves. So, if anyone is not sure about spending the extra money on the cabinets, I would highly recommend it. It will be worth it in the long run!!!

  2. Before we chose to upgrade the appliances, we asked for the model # on them. We looked online at HHGregg and Best Buy to compare the prices. To upgrade with Ryan Homes it was about a $600.00 savings. We chose the featured 3 package that includes the microwave range, flat top stove, and the dishwasher. The are able to get them cheaper because they buy them in bulk.

  3. Thank you, thank you, thank you! ...for blogging about building the Sienna. My husband and I are seriously considering building with Ryan and we keep going back and forth between the Florence and the Sienna. We also plan to upgrade our cabinets to cherry. Did you upgrade your ceilings to 9ft? Are your cabinets 42in?

I'm very excited to watch your progress!

  4. Building the Sienna you are not able to get the larger cabinets. We would of loved to upgrade to the taller cabinets. If that is something that you really would want, I would say go with the Florence. So far we have really liked everyone that we worked with. Hopefully if you and your husband decided to build, you will have a great experience to.
